Bame-Aldred Retires from Northeastern University

June 30, 2021 was the last day for Charlie Bame-Aldred with Northeastern University. After 19 academic years (14 with Northeastern and 5 with Washington State University, Charlie left full-time employment and now lives in the Pacific Northwest. During his time at Northeastern, he created the HUB of Analytics Education with co-founders, Bill Goldman, Alisa Carr and Anthony Grimaldi.

His focus was on student learning and development and creating interesting environments for students to grow. The Auditing in a Big Data Environment course in the MSA Program at Northeastern is one of those learning environments. It combined Tableau, Alteryx, and R programming to give graduate students a taste of where the auditing profession is moving.

While he has retired from Northeastern, he remains active with the HUB and is finding things to do in Oregon. This summer, he taught two classes for the University of Oregon, including a class on Sports Analytics. He involved the University of Oregon Athletic Department and helped execute 6 different data analytics projects covering Baseball, Women’s Lacrosse and Soccer and Sports Medicine.

Outside of teaching, Charlie is working with Moss Adams as a consultant, leveraging his experience working with the Greater Boston Chapter of the Institute of Internal Auditors. He is conducting risk analysis engagements with private companies in the Pacific Northwest.

Join us in congratulating Charlie on his new adventures and his continued involvement with the HUB of Analytics Education.
